Learn Something New and Rewarding
The AIDA 2 Certification Course is for those who would like to learn basic freediving skills for recreational purposes, learning these skills will allow you to enjoy the freedom of swimming in the underwater world without the use of any equipment, as well as the psychological benefits that wonderful sport will bring.
The Course will cover all pool practice disciplines such as dynamic apnea (DYN) and static apnea (STA), Free Immersion (FIM) and Constant Weight.
To maintain a high level of quality and attention to our students, we only have a maximum of four (4) available spots, and we will be opening registrations on a first-come(register) first served basis after this email.
Here are some details of the training course with the proposed timing and location:
Pre-requisites:
1. Be 18 years of age or older (16 or 17 years old with a parent or guardian's consent)
2. Can swim at least 200 m non-stop without fins and at least 300 m non-stop with the mask, fins, and snorkel.
Course Structure (What’s included) and Price
1. Two (1 and 1/2 hrs) online sessions (Microsoft Teams) and one online test,
2. Two pool sessions of training will be held at Etobicoke Olympium Pool.
3. Two open water sessions .
4. AIDA Freediver Certification
5. Free access to Online AF Student Library.
What is not included:
Equipment, transportation, meals
Cost: $850 + taxes
Pool rental: $ 20
Quarry fees: $30

Open Water Sessions Dates (Tentative):
Saturday, July 26, 2025, and
Saturday August 2 2025, 10 am to 2 pm
Equipment: Every student is responsible for bringing their equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and belt with weights).
Course requirements to qualify for AIDA 2 certification:
- 40m distance underwater DYN (dynamic apnea with fins)
- 2:00 stationary breath-hold time in water STA (static apnea)
- One final exam, with a minimum passing score of 75%
- Safety rescue exercises.
- 12 m Contsant weight
